About Rankd

More tennis.Less searching.

Rankd makes it easier to find suitable local players and turn shared availability into time on court. Choose a Ranked Match when you want a result that counts, or a Casual Hit when you simply want to play.

The problem

Finding someone to play with is harder than playing.

Most players know the feeling. You have time on Saturday morning, a court nearby and every intention of playing — and the game still does not happen.

The tennis is never the difficult part. Finding somebody at a similar level, close enough to be realistic and free at the same time is what stops a session from happening.

Why the usual options fall short

Group chats are flexible. League tennis is structured. Neither is both.

WhatsApp groups

Flexible, and often the fastest way to reach people you already know. But you cannot see who plays at your level, the group only ever contains the same players, and arranging anything means scrolling through a long thread.

League and club competition

Structured, competitive and genuinely valuable — but built around fixed schedules, teams and seasons. It answers who you play and when, which does not help when you simply want a game on Thursday evening.

Rankd sits between the two. It keeps the flexibility of arranging a game yourself and adds the structure that makes it work: players matched by level, discovery beyond your own circle, and a result that counts when you want one.

What we are building

A simple way to turn shared availability into time on court.

  • Find players who fit

Level, location and availability, so a session is realistic before anyone commits to it.

  • Arrange it in one place

From a challenge to a confirmed time and court, without moving between three different apps.

  • Compete when you want to

A Ranked Match gives you a result that counts and updates your RTP. A Casual Hit needs no result at all.

Tennis first

We started with tennis.

Rankd started by building its first local player network in Munich and is now available to tennis players across Germany. Starting with one sport allows us to solve the matchmaking problem properly before expanding the same foundation to other sports.

Tennis is where the problem is sharpest: level matters, courts are local, and a mismatched game is not much fun for either player. Doing one sport properly is what makes the matching genuinely useful.

What comes next

The same problem exists in other sports.

Padel, squash, badminton and table tennis all share the same friction: you need someone at your level, nearby, free at the same time. The long-term ambition is to support more of these sports on the same foundation — after tennis is working well, not before.
